i got my scooter from direct bikes about 7 months ago & it’s still running fine! they’re great little scooters, just make sure you do get it serviced regularly to keep it in perfect working order. cheap to buy, cheap to run, get me where I need to go every day. I say go for it!
ignore all the bad reviews on direct bikes, this company have been wonderful. my bike came quickly, the customer service team were very friendly and helpful.
wanted to say that I am very pleased with the “Direct Bikes” basic 50cc scooter which I bought just before Christmas last year. It is a fine-looking little bike in pink and goes very well. The performance is almost equal to the unrestricted Piaggio Zip which it has replaced.
i am thinking about buying the 50cc sports scooter from direct bikes, does anyone else have it? does it run well? any problems? and how much is insurance for it? thanks
Hi Erica, My hubby got one from direct bikes last year to use for work whilst I was on mat leave and I needed the car! it has been great, no probs whatsoever, really cheap to run – costs £4 to fill the tank, £15 to tax for the year and looks great too – ours is a 50cc sports sccoter in black. really east to register too with dvla. don’t know if you are interested but we are now selling it as i am back at work and we both work at the same office so we are using the car together now – hubby is gutted! The insurance we pay is £19 a month. We are also including a black sporty helmet (worth £40) an outside all weather cover and a top box, screen and a dead lock too! Let me know if you are interested before I advertise it – we have all docs, booklets, paperwork and it is in excellent condition and has only done 500 miles!
We are asking for £400 for the whole lot – the bike cost us £600 delivered, the helmet and other accessories cost over £100 and we will tax it for a full year for you too if you are interested. Hope you get one either way – they are wicked!!!! Thanks, Julie
I wanted a black retro scooter, but unfortunately Direct Bikes had run out of stock so ordered a blue one instead. It was delivered promptly. I got more than what I expected, they included a free top box which is handy. Got it out of the box and on the road. Been riding around for a week. All great, will keep you updated.
Hi Julie i’ve been trying to find a cheap scooter to use for comuting into London just like your husband when i came across your comment. i don’t suppose you’ve still got the direct bikes scooter for sale, it’s been quite a while now.
Hey Beau, of course you don’t have to put them together! They come on a pallet, silly. They’re fully assembled. It’s just things like the accessories that you need to attach yourself and direct bikes give you a manual to help with that stuff. It’s very easy! If I can do, it anyone can.
I love the look of the Cobra scooter from Direct Bikes, does anyone have this?
do the batteries need charging before you can ride the scooter?
